My name is Ola and this is my blog about sustainable fashion. I am describing brands that respect workers rights and the environment, events that gather everyone supporters of the movement and I love interviewing people involved in this change.
While studying fashion design I discovered that I enjoy most the pieces that have a story behind them, garments that are a result of passion and knowledge, fashion respecting both people and environment.
In Helsinki I studied ethical and ecological issues of fashion industry. Therefore it became the subject of my thesis and I started d’ éco by Ola Bąkowska brand. My collection contains organic fabrics and locally made jacquard from PET bottles.
In 2014 I interned at world’s first transparent brand Honest by Bruno Pieters. Inspired by this experience together with Kupuj Odpowiedzialnie and Clean Clothes Campaign I organized debates around the subject of sustainable fashion and faires for Polish ethical brands in Warsaw.
Thanks to Fashion Revolution Poland I carried on a debate before the screening of The True Cost movie. I also had a pleasure to share my thoughts during: Cracow Fashion Week, Eco Made festival, Short Waves Festival, DOCS against GRAVITY, Creative Mikser and others.
Currently I’m studying Innovation Management at Central Saint Martins.
My logo is designed by Marta Lissowska and picture taken by Ania Sadłowska – thank you!
